Meals On Wheels
Eligibility
To qualify for home-delivered meals from Meals On Wheels a person must be:
• Age 60 or over
• Homebound (even for a short time)
•Unable to prepare a nutritious meal
•And not have anyone available to help him or her on a regular basis.
The first step to Meals on Wheels eligibility is to fill out the form below and submit it online. Then an assessment to determine eligibility will be scheduled by the Case Manager. The Case Manager will make a home visit to complete the assessment, answer questions, and make a recommendation for service.
Cost
There is no charge for this service. Donations, in any amount, are always appreciated and often needed. Donations may be made by individuals, family and community members at any time. Donation envelopes are provided to Meals On Wheels clients at the beginning of the month with the monthly menu and activities calendars.
Donations may also be made in person at the Community Center or online. See the Donate button above or go to the Support CCCC page, click on Donate for more information.
Volunteering
The bulk of our Meals on Wheels are delivered by volunteers, and without our volunteers, Meals on Wheels would not be the success it is. Individuals, families, church groups, civic groups, and businesses are welcome to volunteer for Meals On Wheels.
Individuals 18 years of age and older are asked to complete a volunteer application, provide a copy of driver’s license and insurance, (volunteers under 18 are allowed to deliver meals but with approval and supervision of a parent or guardian). A background check will be conducted prior to approval.
Meals On Wheels’ clients look forward to seeing their volunteers each day. Getting to know their volunteers is at the top of the list of things clients enjoy about Meals on Wheels, according to surveys. See the Volunteer page for more details.
